Morning Prayer Day 6

Revealing God,

We look for you.

We look for you as our guide and light. Here. Now. Today.

But it isn’t our looking that causes you to appear.

It was always your plan to appear. It was always your loving plan to not only reveal yourself to us but to claim us each as your child.

You appear to us in the simple acts of each day. As we drink our coffee, open our phones, check our email, search Google, tie a child’s shoe, decide what’s for dinner, lick a stamp, sit in the pickup line, wait in the drive-through, pull on our pajamas, or rest our head on our pillow, you reveal yourself to us – you appear, even when we are unaware.

You come to us, God with us. You call us, again and again back to you, patiently and knowingly, revealing yourself each time we feel we have lost you – knowing that you never lose us.

Thank you for making yourself known. When we have trouble seeing your light or following your way, call to us, send wise friends to remind us, and help us be wise friends to others.

In the name of the Christ child, we pray.

Amen
