Morning Prayer 2022 Day 49
Forgiving God,
“I am writing to you, little children,
because your sins are forgiven on account of his name.”
This little missive brings images of joy and delight. I close my eyes and imagine you speaking these words to me.
I can see you pulling me in, embracing me with kindness.
On account of your Son, Jesus Christ, my sins are forgiven. You call me little child. You call your people little children. We are fragile and vulnerable and stubborn and eager to learn. You know all these things and you still write to us, come to us, and bestow your grace freely on us.
Teach me Lord how to hear your voice when you speak these words of grace to me.
Your sins are forgiven on account of his name.
