Morning Prayer 105

Gifting God,

The older I find myself, the more questions I have.

What is my role in your gifting of basic needs to all your people?

What is my role in recognizing the pain and trauma in the lives of those in my circle who worry me or upset me?

What is my role in recognizing what I can control and what is controlling me?

I know that all good things come from you, and yet I respond to life and the needs of the church and others with scarcity more often than I even realize.

May I walk this day and all days in a spirit of abundance and joy? May I recognize the needs of my neighbors and respond with compassion? Move me to think more of you and in so doing, think more of my neighbor.

During this season of thanksgiving, may I think more of gratitude for the relationships in my life, even those that frustrate me? May I work for peace and justice and wholeness? May I do this from a place of gratitude for you having given all these things to me?

Amen
