Morning Prayer Day 9

God of the Water,

Like John, I am not worthy to even untie the thong on your sandals. And yet, you come down to me in baptism and claim me as your children. I am buried and raised with you - claimed as beloved.

You gather from within me the good wheat, and you separate me from the chaff of myself.

No matter how far from you I might ever run, you remain. I remain marked with the cross of Christ forever.

I remain sealed by the Holy Spirit, and this is not because of my own actions, but because of your promise, God the Creator.

Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for claiming me. Thank you for making me your own in the waters of baptism.

Amen
