Morning Prayer 2022 Day 82

God of Small Things,

In this great big ol’ world it is easy to feel small and insignificant. When we stop and think of all the troubles and problems that swirl around us like war, hunger, abuse, neglect, and isolation, who are we to make any difference? Who are we to be a voice? Who are we that you would notice us?

It really isn’t how big we are or how big we believe ourselves to be though, is it God?

The mustard seed is small, and yet you tell us that your Kingdom grows from even inside it to provide strength, branches, rest, and shade to the tiny birds of the air. You take small things and multiply them - like the yeast in the dough.

Lord, when my life feels small, help me to see that your love is great. Your plant your love in my heart and mind to grow that I might shine the light of Christ for those who find themselves feeling small.

Amen
