Morning Prayer 2022 Day 75
Comforting God,
We must sit still, patiently for the waters to settle as calm.
Life creates ripples that push us farther out and away from you.
Often the ripples are of our own making. At times they are the makings of those around us and yet at other times, simply the makings of the current circumstances of the world.
While our hearts may long for calm, what we know is that you walk on water. You calm the storm. You turn water into wine. Your wound on the cross flows with water. You bless the waters of baptism and you claim us as your children through them.
Your grace and love gush out of the rock and flow as nourishment and balm for our weary hearts.
Thank you for bringing this comfort and peace.
Help us to recognize it in the ripples, in the calm, and in the overflowing fountain of life.
Amen
