Morning Prayer 2022 Day 62
Holy God,
You spoke so clearly to Moses. You revealed yourself.
Again and again, you gave him direction, but you also called him away - apart from the others - up on the mountain - and spoke directly to him.
You told him to take off his shoes for he was on holy ground.
This ground that I walk each day doesn’t feel holy.
The ground from my bed to the bathroom. The ground from the kitchen to the office. The ground from the parking lot to the cash register.
This tile, and carpet, and asphalt, they don’t speak to me. They don’t feel like holy ground.
Lord, I long to hear the clarity of your voice speaking directly to me.
This is Holy Ground.
I long to recognize you with me on what is everyday holy ground - ground that you travel with me.
Ground that lifts me up, gives me stability and purpose. Ground that takes me from relationship to relationship.
You speak to me. You journey with me. You carry me.
Every day of my life is spent on holy ground. May I remove my shoes. May I stand with this promise - your promise of presence and love and grace.
Amen
