Morning Prayer 2022 Day 38

God of Glory,

In those times when it feels like the world is out to get me, I can lose sight of you and your majesty.

It is hard not to take the actions or neglect of others personally - like they are doing it to me. To hurt me or because they don’t value me.

People say and do hurtful and neglectful things.

But Lord, the world is broken.

People are broken. I am broken.

Help me recognize that those who hurt me or neglect me have their own stuff they either are or are not working on.

Help me see that reality for what it is so I can be free of resentment and frustration.

Help me see my own stuff and work on it. Help me name my stuff now.

[name them here]

And Lord, I also pray for those who are dragging me down and keeping me bitter or angry. I acknowledge that praying for them may not change them, but Lord, change me.

[name them here]

Lord give me the strength to focus on myself and give me the tools to grow in self-awareness and understanding. Give me the tools to forgive and the openness to heal.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray these things.

Amen
