Morning Prayer Day 15

God of All Life,

Your people are complicated. We shy away from pain, hurt, and danger, and of course, why would we not. You have given us the instincts of survival. As this pandemic rages on and more and more people are sick, Lord we find our reserves are down. We are running out of the capacity to care or to act. We are running out of the capacity to engage and hear.

Renew our spirits, Lord.

The Bible shows us so many examples of your complicated people living through difficult times. They make mistakes and they turn away from you. Help us to lean into those messages and draw hope from them, just as you were working to help your people lean into you and draw hope from you. Let us not shy away from our reality, but rather, find a new zeal to stand and proclaim that even in, no, especially in, these times of trial, you are present.

You are here.

Amen
