Blessed are You in 2022
Blessed are you who hide in the shadows because the world doesn't accept you.
Blessed are you who make yourselves small so the world doesn't notice you.
Blessed are you who can't get out of bed each day because it's all just too much.
Blessed are you who fear for your lives because of the realities of where you live
Blessed are you who repeat your past traumas because you don't have the resources to heal
Blessed are you who make yourselves big so the world doesn't see your lack of confidence
Blessed are you who feel powerless and helpless because someone is keeping you chained
Blessed are you who don't fit into the prescribed boxes of society and find yourselves being bullied
Blessed are you who feel you are walking this world alone because you can't connect with others
A Blessing for You
As you walk through this life, may you recognize God in your midst. In the shadows, and classrooms, and bedrooms, and office spaces, and social spaces, and in all spaces, may you feel the presence of the Spirit there, in, with, and through you, lifting your chin, filling your cup, giving you rest, and claiming you as a child of God fully as completely as your whole wonderfully beautiful self. May you know God's overwhelming power of love. May you know that God does not abandon you, leave you, or expect more of you than you can muster. God's grace does not depend on the acceptance of the world, it comes from God's radical place of Holy love. May you know the joy of this truth in, with, and through your life.
