Morning Prayer Day 12
Generous God,
We give praise to you this day Lord. We give thanks that your steadfast love endures forever.
Your deeds of justice and righteousness are more than our combined thoughts can even imagine.
Like your people, Israel, we have sinned. Our ancestors have sinned, and yet, you choose us anyway. You save us from ourselves just as you saved them.
When will we fully embrace that our relationship with you isn’t about us at all, it isn’t about our ability to please you or follow your rules? Instead, it is about you and your generosity of Spirit and Love that sustains us, keeps us, protects us, and saves us.
This day, Lord, may I be awake enough to experience you in the world around me. May I recognize you in the places life takes me. May I notice you in the simple moment of drinking my coffee and crossing something off my list? May I hear you in that phone call I wasn’t expecting? May I experience the calm of your forgiveness when I feel hurt or offended? May I remember that I belong to you, claimed and loved, because of your goodness?
I pray all this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen
